Rick Steves' travel guides have a cult following and for good reason. They are practical, opinionated, fun to read, and filled chock full of good economical advice on how to enjoy the essence of the place instead of spending your money on sterile luxury rooms and tourist trap wife and I lived in Germany for 3 and a half years and traveled extensively within Germany, Austria.   The Rick Steves book on Germany, Switzerland and Austria (which I last looked at 10 years ago, when I bought a copy of it) might be useful to you (it only includes southern and Alpine Germany, not.

As always, I enjoyed this edition of Rick's info on travel to Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland. Please understand that this book only samples very small portions of most of these countries/5(40). Travel has changed considerably since European travel expert Rick Steves published his first guide "Europe Through the Back Door" in In the time it took Steves to write 50 guidebooks, host 10 seasons of "Rick Steves' Europe" on TV, start a public radio show, release a mobile app for audio tours and grow a company that gui people through Europe each year, 45 pins.
